UPDATE!: The UAMMI CrossTalk event has been rescheduled for November 19th in conjunction with the CompositesWorld Carbon Fiber 2020 Conference. It will be a blend of virtual and in-person attendance (as permitted). The Wasatch Front Materials Expo has been cancelled for 2020 and will resume in March 2021.

As the Vice President of Composites Market Development for the American Composites Manufacturers Association, Mr. Coughlin will review the trends that affect the future of the composites industry based on industry feedback and insight, as well as market pull from OEM’s and end-users. Trends will include process simplification, automation, sustainability, and supply chain integration. Topic: The Role of Engineered Compounds and 3D printing in Support of Industry 4.0 and Manufacturing Competitiveness
Tom Drye is Vice President of Emerging Markets, Innovation, and Application Development for Techmer PM, a materials design and solutions provider of custom engineered compounds. Mr. Drye will address the role that engineered compounds (in collaboration with large part additive printers) have played in US manufacturing. As the Chief Technology Officer for UAMMI, Dr. Brent Strong will give an easy-to-understand introduction to composites for new employees, mktg & sales teams, gov/civic leaders etc. Dr. Strong is an emeritus professor of Manufacturing Engineering Technology at Brigham Young University and literally wrote the books on advanced materials by authoring/co-authroring 12 books and over 100 peer reviewed papers, He is also a SAMPE Fellow and has served as the President of SAMPE International.
