As many of you know, our UAMMI CrossTalk event was postponed last March due to health concerns. However, I am excited to announce that this event has now been rescheduled to be held in conjunction with CompositesWorld Carbon Fiber NOW conference on November 18-19, 2020. These two virtual events will consist of expert presentations and discussions regarding carbon fiber and the advanced materials industry. Speakers will share insight, forecasts, trends, innovations as well as take questions from the audience.
We are thrilled to be partnering with CompsitesWorld for this exciting event and don’t want you to miss it! Because of that, we have arranged very special pricing for Utah companies and partners to attend for only $89 rather than the $495 it will cost others. We have also arranged for Utah educators, students and staff to attend the event for FREE! To take advantage of these offers, please email us at info@uammi.org and we will send you the discount codes.
In other exciting news, UAMMI and the Utah Industry Resource Alliance (UIRA) recently released an in-depth forecast of Utah manufacturing industry from 2021-2025 and the underlying economic trends that will affect it. The study was funded by CARES Act money allocated to UIRA to help guide Utah’s manufacturers through recovery from the impacts of COVID-19 recession. The report will be updated quarterly and can be found on the UIRA website at: https://utahira.org/uira-finds-covid-19-impacts-on-utah-manufacturers-may-last-three-years/
The UIRA CARES funding also helped UAMMI hold its first B2B Government Contracting Matchmaking event a few weeks ago. This event was designed to help match local suppliers with large Utah manufacturers. Northrop Grumman was the participating buyer and released two specific requests for information (RFI) using the CONNEX-Utah platform. In response, more than 20 companies responded to the RFI and out of those, six were selected for interviews with Northrop Grumman. The event was a huge success and both Northrop Grumman and the selected suppliers found it to be very valuable.
Going forward, UAMMI is planning additional B2B Government Contracting Matchmaking sessions with more prime contractors. These events will provide Utah suppliers even more opportunities to connect with prime manufacturers and potentially do more business with them.
Thank you all for your support and we hope to “see” you this week at the UAMMI CrossTalk and CompositesWorld Carbon Fiber NOW event!
